Spend all your time waiting
For that second chance
For a break that will make it okay…
George Weasley
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty
George Weasley had many friends growing up. He was a goof ball and loved to pull pranks on anyone and everyone that came his way. Together with his best mate and twin Fred they did not discriminate on who they pranked so friends were naturally fair game. Still, they were quite lovable. Often the quieter of the two (though quiet may not be the right word as they both filled up a room quite easily), George was still boisterous and full of adventure. He made friends with everyone, except maybe the Slytherins who for some reason didn’t take too kindly to his tomfoolery. He and his brother were never alone in their quest for fun as their best mate Lee Jordan was always by their side. He really was their ‘brotha from anotha motha.’ He was particularly close in school with his Quidditch team mates, Oliver Wood, Katie Bell, Alicia Spinnet, and Angelina Johnson.
Since the War ended George has done a complete one eighty. He is no longer that lovable prankster that is always in the thick of things. He has become dangerously introverted and has detached himself from many of his old friends. Many don’t know what to say or have tried too hard for too long with George and thus have fallen out of touch. At the present time Geroge is not the best friend in the world and will often test the limits of his friendships with his unpredictable and destructive antics. If you can put up with his downfall you are one of the few true friends he has and hopefully one day he will be able to see that.
In short, George does not have many friends anymore. His neglectful and harmful nature makes him hard to interact with. This pack with the way he isolates himself makes it hard for those to see the real Georege Weasley.
The storm keeps on twisting
Keep on building the lies
That you make up for all that you lack…
The Enemies
In school there was no one that really hated the Weasley twins…well unless you were a constant target of one of their pranks. Generally the Slytherins didn’t much like George and his brother. Also, many of the pureblood elitist thought down upon George’s entire family for being what they called “blood traitors” but that never got the twins down. They threw back exactly what their enemies threw at them and did it with a coy smile and a witty joke.
To post war George everyone is the enemy. He doesn’t like to trust, he resents those who are trying to help him out of his crippling depression, and despises those who tell him the blatant truth about his destructive ways. He is now quick to judge and it is never for the better. It seems safer by many to sugar coat and baby George so he doesn’t snap at a moment’s notice and cut the person out of his life completely.
He is hard on the drink and is often a beligerant drunk. Many bar owners don’t like him, and if you are in competition for business with the Weasley you will detest him even more as he hasn’t really worked a day since the war ended. Resentment and jealousy is all around the WWW and there are many of those who think George may be off his rocker.
In this sweet madness
Oh this glorious sadness
That brings me to my knees…
The Lovers
George has had his fair share of relations over the years, though he has never been deemed a play boy. Girls just seemed to like a funny guy. He has never really had the attention span for a serious girlfriend, especially at Hogwarts where he was too busy with his brother and Lee and pulling pranks. The truth is he often used jokes to cover up his nervousness around the opposite sex. He always believed that Fred was the smoother of the two twins and while he had his successes with girls, George pretended he did as well. He knew he was good at being the friend---prime example being with Angelina Johnson. There might have been a small bit of feelings there but he could never know for sure.
After Fred’s death George has lost all will to move on with his life. The relationships he had before the war slowly died out and he left himself to the cool solitude of his flat night after night. He is in no way looking for a relationship though that doesn’t mean his options aren’t there. For some reason the whole broken and wounded thing is a big turn on with the ladies of Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade. Go figure?
From this dark cold hotel room
And the endlessness that you fear
You are pulled from the wreckage …
The Fam
George has a rather big family. The Weasleys are a pureblood family that can been extended over a lot of people throughout England. Not to mention the immediate family alone is quite large. Chances are if you have red hair you are in some way related to George and his strange family.
After everything that happened with Fred, George started to lose touch with his family on his own choosing. He stopped coming to the Burrow altogether and began pulling something far worse that what Percy ever pulled while growing up. He doesn’t like the feeling of being there. His family looks to him in need for him to be okay, but they should know by now that he is never going to be okay. The memories are too fresh and threaten to consume him when at the Burrow. His brother is gone and by all things considered so is the old George Weasley.

George Weasley
And it’s hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release …
I need some distraction
Oh beautiful release …
Wasting away twenty two years
Owner of Weasleys’ Wizard Wheezes…but only on paper
Used to run with the lions but now only runs with himself
Struggling to find peace and a place to call home
Misses his twin…

Used to run with the lions but now only runs with himself
Struggling to find peace and a place to call home
Misses his twin…
Memories seep from my veins
Let me be empty
Oh and weightless and maybe
I’ll find some peace tonight…

May you find some comfort here…
