She Doesn't Know She's Beautiful
......Hannah Abbott...Cormac McLaggen...Neville Longbottom
Growing up, Hannah Abbott was never the most outgoing person. She never felt she could really fill a room with a glowing personality and stellar looks. She was quite content in being quiet, simple, average Hufflepuff Hannah. Instead of wasting her time wishing away what was her life she accepted she was no one like Cho Chang. Her shyness and awkwardness just wouldn’t allow it. She figured guys wouldn’t take the time to get to know a girl like her. While she always had her friends, she felt like there was something missing in her life.
Everything changed when Hannah’s mother was murdered by Lord Voldemort in 1996. Coming back two years later to fight in the final battle at Hogwarts changed her life. She was no longer little, quiet Hannah. Now, in 2000, Hannah is still reeling from the ordeal of the war. She was never able to return to Hogwarts and finish her education as the memories became too vivid and terrifying. Instead she took up waitressing at the Leaky Cauldron and quickly moved her way up to a management position in the pub.
At one of the many functions the LC ran, Hannah ran across Cormac McLaggen, a former school mate. The two hit it off and quickly became involved with one another. Hannah was finally the girl who got the boy. Cormac, a good looking jock who always seemed to set his standards high in the women he dated. Still timid, Hannah found herself starting to become neglected in the relationship and taking back handed comments that hurt her more than anyone would ever know. Still, she found that she couldn’t move on. She knew that for someone like Cormac to even take a second glance at her was a miracle in itself. She found herself falling more and more in love with him despite his disregard for her and his ever wandering eye.
At the same time, she was still dealing with the loss of her mother and friends. She found comfort in someone who had always been extremely kind to her in school; Neville Longbottom. Though they never really were that close in school, he was always a friendly face to talk to. Neville became a shoulder for Hannah having lost parents in his own way.
Neville found that he and Hannah shared something that he had never experienced before. The more they got to know each other the harder he began to look at her differently. She had a boyfriend though, and who was he to come in between someone like Cormac?
Now Hannah is caught in the middle of what she thinks is true love and what is hiding right under her nose? Will Neville ever act on his feelings? Will Cormac change his ways? Or will Hannah forget it all and move on with her life?
